I recently had the privilege to visit Elizabeth Gillett’s studio in Manhattan! Now if you don’t know who Elizabeth Gillett is, she is designer and owner of an accessories company whose main focus is on scarves.
Her scarves are designed here in New York City and made in India. They have gotten some major attention and rightfully so. Her pieces are gorgeous and unique. You might have seen some of her designs in departments stores, boutiques, and magazines like Marie Claire, Vogue, Glamour, and InStyle. Get this, they were even featured on Gossip Girl!
Gillett’s studio was bright and airy, kind of like her scarves look. She had a ton of pieces of display that you saw as soon as you walked in the door. The space was clean, and didn’t have much going on so the scarves drew in all of your attention. Gillett wore all black and one of her scarves wrapped around her neck. It didn’t take long for me to catch on to how sophisticated she was. She is a minimalist and that’s proven in how she dresses. It allows her scarves to speak for themselves, basically being her whole outfit.
Her Spring/Summer collection just started making its way into stores and I highly suggest you check out some of her items!
